dichroic rings of stardust. Includes a stand,
story card and blue velvet box. 3" dia.
Solar Flare

star dust millions of miles into outer space with each flare.
Includes a blue velvet box and storycard. 3" dia.
"Andromeda"
$98.00

galaxy and is visible to the naked eye under most conditions. 3" dia.
"Black Hole"
$98.00
A Black Hole is a region of space that has so much mass
concentrated in it that there is no way for a nearby
object to escape its gravitational pull.
The term "black hole" is used because no light can
escape from inside of the region, creating the illusion that it has
disappeared or become a hole in space.
Glass Eye Studio has designed the Black Hole paperweight with dense
black layers of dichroic glass to create a swirling
vortex on an endless backdrop.
"Comet
$98.00
Comets are immense chunks of ice and rock hurtling
though space. Their tails show up when starlight shines though
material blown off the main body by solar winds. 3" dia.
"Earth"
The most difficult to create!
$320.00
Earth is the third planet from the sun and
is covered by more water than land. Look closely
to see all of the continents on this piece. 3.5" dia.
"Jupiter"
$98.00
The Great Red Spot of Jupiter is a massive storm
on the surface of the largest planet in our system.
1,300 Earths could fit inside Jupiter. 3" dia.
"Mars"
$98.00
Mars is the fourth planet from the sun.
The reddish glowing color of its soil
gives it the nickname, the Red Planet. 3" dia.
"Mercury "
(this one glows in the dark!)
$98.00
A planet with extremes, the bright side of Mercury can
be hot enough to melt lead while the polar regions
dip to 235 degrees below zero. 3" dia.
"Milky Way"
$98.00
The galaxy that we call the Milky Way consists of over
200 billion stars and is so vast that a beam of light would take
100,000 years to cross from one side to the other. 3" dia.
"Moon"
$98.00
The Moon dictates the seasons and tides on Earth
with its gravitational pull. Lunar eclipses are caused when the
shadow of Earth blocks sunlight from reaching the Moon. 3" dia.
"Neptune"
$98.00
Neptune is a pale blue planet that
lies beyond the reach of ordinary telescopes,
nearly 3 billion miles from the sun. 3" dia.

Earth's magnetosphere, the Northern Lights, or auroras,
are beautiful, colorful displays across the horizon. 3" dia.

Below are photos of the series in our gallery:
For the creation of one of the planets in the
Celestial Series clear glass is brought to a temperature of 2,200 F inside
a fiery furnace. The artist uses a five foot long steel pole to gather
the molten glass that will be formed into one of the planets.
The inside of the planet as we see it is created by rolling this molten
glass in many different trays of colored glass powder. The colors
having been added, the artist then hand crafts the shape of the colored
molten glass using hand tools. Next the artist adds 22 karat gold
leaf and pieces of dichroic glass to the surface to produce an extraordinary
interchange of color and light in each planet. The planet itself
having been created, it is then surrounded by clear molten glass and shaped
into it's final rounded form using a hand-held metal block. Then
all that remains is to cut and polish a window into this world, that you
may observe it for all time to come. Each piece of art is signed
and dated.
