"Shawl Dancer"
By: Jerry McKellar

$5100.00
33" x 35"
Mounted on wooden spinning base
Limited Edition of 20

This sculpture of a female fancy dancer is one in a series of Indian dancers created by the artist.
The shawl dancer is like a butterfly prancing; bright, colorful, flashy outfits with long fringe work to
accentuate the motion of the shawl. The women's fancy dance is highlighted with fast,
intricate, high stepping footwork incorporating constant movement of the shawl. This dance is a modern dance performed at
powwows, as opposed to a traditional dance.
The patina colors of the dancer and shawl can be changed to compliment any decor.
