Though abundantly familiar to us through television, movies and visits to the zoo, the elephant
remains fascinatingly mysterious to humans. From its strange anatomy, especially the incredible
trunk, to its cunning intelligence, we find the elephant unfailingly appealing. For the sculptor, its
textured skin and fun shape are irresistible.
